I guess part of the reason why I decided to move to Dreamwidth is because LiveJournal's free user experience is worsening, and also because LiveJournal's business practices are no longer as transparent as they're supposed to be. As Dreamwidth's struggle to find a payment service showed, Dreamwidth really is committed to free creative expression and everything else they say in their mission statement and terms of service.
